This is a basic type of poker. 5 Card stud, then 7 Card stud, and at last Texas Hold`em derived from it.
The objective, ultimately, is to collect a combination of 5 cards. Two things must be known - first, winning combinations and their hierarchy; second, types and time of stakes.
Dealer
Dealers are nominated clockwise as a rule.
ANTE.
An ante requires every player to place a specified amount in the pot prior to the beginning of each hand. The ante does not count toward any future bets. Dealer deals out cards one at a time face down, each player gets 5 cards.
Pass, bet or fold
The player to the dealer`s left makes the first stake. If he passes or bets, the next player comes into the game. At last somebody has to bet, and the rules change.
Call or raise
If a player bets, the next one calls or raises adding money to the pot.
The dealer bets the last. And the players have to add to the pot to continue the game.
Discarding
All players may discard some or all of their cards. They must be sloughed face down.
Second round
It resembles the first one, but the stakes grow. The dealer bets the last, then players expose cards.
The open
Cards are being exposed. The highest combination determines the winner. He takes the pot.
If nobody has a winning combination, the ace wins. Suit is not used to define a winner.
